A popular tourist destination just 98 kilometers ahead from Siliguri renowned for its Hydroelectric Project. There is a beautiful forest bungalow in Jhalong beside the Jaldhaka River. Jaldhaka can be reached from Siliguri by a three hrs journey through Dooars plains. A small picturesque hill village on the Indo- Bhutan border. Jaldhaka is a little known tourist destination in lower Kalimpong foothills. The journey to Jaldhaka via Chalsa-Khunia-Chapramari is a fascinating 1 as the road passes through the beautiful teagardens, high forests, river valleys and small quiet villages. The valley of Jaldhaka, at 1500 feet above sea level is a prospective tourist destination. Situated on the hill section of Gorubathan under Kalimpong Sub-division it is cut off from the rest of the district by a mountain ridge descending south-west from Reche-la and is separated from Bhutan by the De-chu or Jaldhaka River. Jaldhaka is a small township nearly 95kms from Siliguri.
